4:00 PM – Take Back Our Healthcare- Des Moines

210 Walnut St, Des Moines, IA 50309-2102, United States

With the passage of Trumpcare in the House, we now take the fight to the Senate. We must protect The Affordable Care Act, a critically important step towards the goal of making healthcare available to all. Then we need to move forward, and build upon the success of the ACA.

Our Revolution will continue to fight against Republican efforts to strip people of their healthcare and support efforts to build on the strength of the Medicare program and create a Medicare for All system.

That’s why 109 Democrats (and counting!) in Congress have signed on as co-sponsors of HR 676, The Expanded & Improved Medicare For All Act.

Join us in front of the offices of Senators Grassley and Ernst and demand they protect the ACA. Hear from health care professionals and candidates for the 3rd District Congressional race why they support Medicare for All.

Attendees are encouraged to dress in mourning as we mourn those who face bankruptcy, lack of care and even death, if the Republicans are successful in destroying the healthcare of millions.

Rallies will be held the same date and time in these cities-

6:30 PM – Saving the Iowa Insurance Exchange (Obamacare)

Monday, May 22nd-Franklin Library 5000 Franklin, Des Moines, Iowa 6:30-8:00 pm

Senator Matt McCoy will speak about possible alternatives.

All our primary insurance providers (Wellmark, Aetna and Medica) have announced they are leaving the Iowa exchange for 2018.

It appears there may not be any insurance available for the 70,000 Iowans currently on the Iowa Obamacare Exchange. This requires immediate action as current coverage ends for these Iowans on January 1, 2018.

There are alternatives but we must act quickly. Please alert relatives, friends or associates currently getting their insurance through the Iowa Exchange about his emergency meeting. Please come and join our conversation.
